Ambaston is a delightful community just outside Derby. It is close to Nottingham, the M1, M42 and A50 and our airport is called East Midlands Airport.
The River Derwent meanders past the hamlet on its way to the Trent. The surrounding fields are full of wild life and a variety of wild birds.
There is a post office to the south at Shardlow and the Harrington Arms can be found in Thulston.
